TribevTribe
TribevTribe was devised as a game to encourage social interaction and move people around Margate.
It linked sixteen venues and ran for one month, the duration
of the Tribes festival. We worked with Artist Dan Thompson on this project.
Dan turned Marine Studios into TribevTribe HQ for the duration of the game complete with game table, and ongoing changing displays and updates of the state of play.
The game uses the town itself as the board, and is played not in three dimensions, but in four. It’s a game which celebrates Margate’s place as a home to youth culture, and lays that past over the present townscape.
Players move through the town, and in and out of history, winning points by completing simple challenges, finding clues or building their tribe.
